RECORD Living Lab på Marknadsundersökningens dag
December 15, 2008 on 10:35 am | By Asbjørn | In All categories | No CommentsRECORD har fått antatt en Living Lab-presentasjon til neste års Marknadsundersökningens dag i Stockholm, der Opinion vil fortelle hvordan Living Labs vil få konsekvenser for analysebransjen.
RECORD Living Lab member of ENOLL
November 26, 2008 on 6:12 am | By Asbjørn | In All categories | No Comments
The RECORD online Living Lab is now a member of the European Network of Living Labs (ENOLL), together with more than 100 Living Labs across Europe. Living Labs are environments that allow users to be involved in innovation processes, and the purpose of ENOLL is to enable a coordinated development of Living Labs.
The RECORD online Living Lab consists of an Internet panel and an online environment. The panel was established in the fall of 2007. Early trial cases has been run with an intermediate online environment mainly supporting one-way communication with the participants. A first version of an online environment, based on community technology, is planned to be used in trial cases early 2009. Read more about the Lab here.
Currently the RECORD online Living Lab serves early trial cases with project partners. When the Lab reaches sufficient maturity (2009-10) we aim to make its services commercially available to the industry in general.
eBorger 2.0
November 14, 2008 on 7:37 am | By Asbjørn | In All categories, Patterns of media use | No CommentsForskere i RECORD har levert rapporten eBorger 2.0 til Fornyings og administrasjonsdepartementet (FAD).

Living Labs: What are they?
September 30, 2008 on 8:05 am | By Asbjørn | In All categories | No CommentsThere is a trend towards regarding the users as an innovation potential. Users come in large numbers, they hold alternative perspectives on how technology may be used, and - given the right circumstances- they may be willing to share their insights and ideas to innovators and product developers.
Living Labs is a new kind of environment to involve the users in innovation and development processes. In these labs, user research and design activities are conducted in the every-day context of the user. The users may be involved as co-creators, challenged to develop consepts and designs together with the development team. Or they may provide feedback on service concepts and designs developed by others.
To help you navigate in the current literature on Living Labs, we have written a review of the current Living Lab literature. This provides a comprehensive overview of research on Living Labs conducted withing the field of Information and communication technologies.
Within the EU, there is a growing interest in Living Labs, as is reflected in the 51 Living Labs currently members of the European Network of Living Labs.
In the RECORD project we are establishing an online Living Lab where we use online environments to get design-feedback from users. The RECORD online Living Lab has been used in design-cases for NRK Urørt and for Telenor.
June 20, 2008 on 7:42 am | By Asbjørn | In All categories, Design | 12 CommentsI Urørt-LABS leker vi oss med fremtidens musikktjenester for NRK Urørt.

Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and social media development
May 28, 2008 on 7:12 am | By Asbjørn | In All categories | 1 CommentThe following is the theme of a NordiCHI 2008 workshop on social media development. The workshop is aranged by the projects RECORD and CITIZEN MEDIA.
Social media are systems and applications supporting content sharing and co-creation in sociable online environments. This includes solutions for media sharing (e.g. YouTube, Flickr), self presentation and debate (e.g. MySpace, bloggs), social networks (e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn), referencing and recommendation services (e.g. Digg, Del.icio.us) and co-created knowledge resources (e.g. Wikipedia). Social media may also include technology platforms such as interactive television and mobile phones.
The growth of social media will most likely have important consequences for the field of HCI. Social media is said to “[reframe] the debate in terms of user experience, usability, and most importantly what matters to users” (Porter, 2007). Vice versa, HCI and usability will be increasingly relevant for social media development. In a recent study by Brandtzæg and Heim (2008) end-users reported low usability as their third most important reason for reduced use of particular social network sites. A similar perspective is held by danah boyd (2005) criticizing what she terms “autistic social media”.
Social media development implies important challenges for the field of HCI. Social media’s context of use, and end-users competencies and preferences are changing rapidly and unpredictably. Social media design needs to support not only individual users, but communities and co-creation of content (Battarbee, 2003; Light, 2004). Knowledge resources such as guidelines and design patterns, needs continuous updating due to fast changes in what is considered successful social media design. Evaluation of social media requires sensitivity to utility and user experience issues rather than just usability (Preece, 2001; Nov, 2007), while at the same time user feedback methods should not overburden participants (Schümmer and Lukosch, 2007).

Tilbakemelding på idéer for musikktjenester på nett
April 8, 2008 on 11:32 pm | By Asbjørn | In All categories, Living lab, Design, User-centred evaluation | No CommentsI RECORD-prosjektet leker vi oss med design-idéer for fremdens nettjenester.
Drøyt 150 personer deltok i undersøkelsen.
